Honesty and Elixir Amoris

if, by the removal of garments
the flimsy pieces of cloths
can the many layers of bandages
wrapped around the heart unwind
and words that truly mean
come susurring forth, embalm
the body and the mind
in a torrent of whispering –

then let us stand unclothed
heart pressed against heart
arms intertwined with arms
and legs losing their foothold
to surrender ourselves to
our lascivious confessions
then die from an overdose
of honesty and elixir amoris.
