When Music Deserts You

When music deserts you,
you only have yourself to face –
You see yourself in the mirror of infinity
You see in the emptiness a page –
blank and remorseless.

When the last note is struck,
its multicolour dusts dissipated
into the blackness of aether,
the tail of its resonance
whitens out;

Like an imploding star
whose darkness is glaring
whose silence is deafening
in a magnificent instant
the totality of universe
disintegrates.

– – – Then
out of the depth of this void
I hear
a sigh
lifted
on the threshold
of  music.
